THE FLATS – Roberto Castro is making the most of his opportunities in the fall portion of the 2015-16 PGA Tour schedule. The former Georgia Tech All-American tied for 25th in last weekend’s OHL Classic at Mayakoba and jumped to 33rd on the FedEx Cup points list.

The 2007 Tech graduate was one of two former Yellow Jackets to make the cut, firing rounds of 70-68-68-69 for a 9-under-par total of 275. It was his second top-25 finish in four events this fall, and he’s 4-for-4 in cuts made. Matt Kuchar also made the cut with a 1-under-par 283. Bryce Molder, Stewart Cink and Nicholas Thompson all missed the cut.

Castro, Cink, Kuchar, Thompson and Chesson Hadley are in the field for this weekend’s RSM Classic (formerly called the McGladrey Classic) at Kuchar’s home course in Sea Island, Ga.

Web.com Tour Q-School – Three second-stage events were played last week in Brooksville, Fla., Kingwood, Texas and McKinney, Texas, with the top 21 finishers plus ties advancing onto the finals, which will be held Dec. 10-13 in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.

Kyle Scott and Paul Haley both advanced to the finals of the Web.com Tour Q-School, which will be held Dec. 10-13 in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. Scott advanced qualified out of the second-stage event in Kingwood, Texas, firing a 5-under-par score of 283 (72-73-70-68) to tie for 13th place, while Paul Haley tied for 14th place in McKinney, Texas with a 9-under-par 279 (69-68-70-72).

Drew Czuchry and Shun Yat Hak failed to qualify from the second-stage event in Brooksville, Fla., while John-Tyler Griffin did not advance from the McKinney, Texas site.

Ollie Schniederjans is entered in Beaumont, Calif., and Anders Albertson in Plantation, Fla., which are in progress this week (Nov. 17-20).

Richard Werenski and Matt Weibring, who both played on the Web.com Tour in 2015, are exempt into the finals.
