Nissan #ProJackets Golf Report

May 23, 2017

THE FLATS – Matt Kuchar and Cameron Tringale made significant jumps in their FedEx Cup standing last weekend with top-10 finishes at the AT&T Byron Nelson in Irving, Texas. Both players tied for ninth place with 7-under-par scores of 273 at the TPC Four Seasons Resort.

Kuchar posted his third top-10 finish of the year (T-4 at Masters, T-9 at Waste Management Phoenix Open) and the 88th of his career, improving his FedEx Cup points standing to 40th place, highest among the former Yellow Jackets on tour. Tringale earned his second top-10 finish of the year (T-8 at Genesis Open) and moved back into the top 125 at No. 111.

Ollie Schniederjans tied for 55th place and stands 45th in FedEx Cup points, while Bryce Molder and Richy Werenski missed the cut.

Stewart Cink, who stands 76th in the points race, returns to action this week as the PGA Tour moves across town to the DEAN & DELUCA Invitational at Colonial Country Club. Kuchar, Molder, Schniederjans and Tringale also are in the field.

In the opening round of the 2017 AT&T Byron Nelson, Matt Kuchar hits his 205-yard tee shot in tight setting up a 3-foot putt for birdie on the par-3 2nd hole.

Following a third-round 67, Cameron Tringale reflects on his play in the 2017 AT&T Byron Nelson with Dennis Paulson from PGA TOUR Radio.

Web.com Tour: Chesson Hadley tied for 17th at last weekend’s BMW Charity Pro-Am in South Carolina, his second-best finish this season as he attempts to regain his PGA Tour card. His best finish this season is a tie for 11th at the Bahamas Great Exuma Classic, and he ranks 57th in Web.com Tour earnings. Nicholas Thompson (19th in earnings) and Anders Albertson (69th) tied for 57th place, while Seth Reeves (35th) missed the cut. The top 25 in earnings at the end of the regular season secure their PGA Tour cards for 2017-18.

In the second round of the 2017 BMW Charity Pro-Am, Chesson Hadley moves his 200-yard approach from right to left and leaves it four feet away from the cup on the par-3 17th hole. Hadley goes on to birdie the hole.

U.S. Open qualifying: Matt Kuchar and Roberto Castro are the only Jacket alums currently exempt into the field for the 117th U.S. Open, to be conducted June 15-18 at Erin Hills in Erin, Wis. Rising Tech seniors James Clark and Michael Pisciotta have both advanced out of local qualifying tournaments and will attempt to make the field early in June at a sectional qualifier.
