THE FLATS – A Georgia Tech golf alumni reunion of sorts will come together this weekend when 10 former Yellow Jacket stars tee it up in the RSM Classic at Sea Island, Ga., the final fall event on the 2016-17 PGA Tour schedule.
Olympic bronze medalist Matt Kuchar, currently 83rd on the FedEx Cup points list, will hop over from his home in neighboring St. Simons Island to play in his third fall event along with current PGA Tour members Roberto Castro, Stewart Cink, Bryce Molder, Ollie Schniederjans, Cameron Tringale and Richy Werenski.
Anders Albertson earned a spot via open qualifying on Monday, while Chesson Hadley and Nicholas Thompson secured invitations to this event.
And what’s even better, former Yellow Jacket stars Charlie Rymer, Tripp Isenhour and David Duval will be on hand covering the event for Golf Channel.
Cink turned in his second straight tie for 15th last weekend at the OHL Classic at Mayakoba, continuing to take advantage of his career money exemption to leap to 51st in FedEx Cup points. Tringale and Werenski also made the cut in Mexico.
In the final round of the 2016 OHL Classic at Mayakoba, Stewart Cink rolls in a 20-foot birdie putt on the par-4 17th hole.
Ollie Schiederjans didn’t make the cut at the OHL Classic, but he earned some high praise on Golf Channel while he pops in this chip shot from off the green in the opening round.

Web.com Tour: Seth Reeves rolled through the second stage at the Web.com Tour Qualifying School, tying for second place with an 11-under-par score of 277 at the Southern Hills Plantation Club in Brooksville, Fla. He grabbed one of 18 spots available from that site (there were four second-stage sites) to advance to the final stage of Q-school, which is set for Dec. 8-11 at Orange County National in Winter Garden, Fla.
