@GT_Golf - #ProJackets Update

July 28, 2015

THE FLATS – Veteran PGA Tour stars Stewart Cink and Matt Kuchar earned top-10 finishes last weekend at the RBC Canadian Open, while five of the six former Georgia Tech players in the field made the cut.

On the heels of his tie for 20th at the Open Championship at St. Andrews, Cink shot a closing 66 and tied for fifth, his best finish since capturing the Open Championship in 2009. He jumped to 107th on the FedEx Cup points standings after his 13-under-par total of 275.

Kuchar tied for seventh after firing four consecutive 69s (276, -12). He moved back into the top 30 in FedEx Cup points (top 30 play in the season-ending Tour Championship at East Lake Golf Club) and surpassed $33 million in career PGA Tour earnings.

Playing in his first tour event as a professional, Ollie Schniederjans earned $46,207 in his debut on the PGA Tour, tying for 22nd place. His 66 on Saturday put him on the first page of the TV leaderboard, and he got to 13-under through six holes in his final round Sunday before four straight bogeys derailed his attempt to win.

Roberto Castro (282, -6) and Chesson Hadley (287, -1) tied for 48th and 72nd, respectively.

Anders Albertson continued to enjoy early success as a professional, finishing third at least week’s Achasta Golf Club event in Dahlonega, Ga. The 2015 graduate shot 71-66-65 and finished two shots off the pace at 14-under 202.

Cink and Hadley join Bryce Molder, Nicholas Thompson and Cameron Tringale in the field for this week’s Quicken Loans National at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in Gainesville,Va. Schniederjans also has an exception into the event which is hosted by Tiger Woods.

With four events remaining before the Fed Ex Cup playoffs begin, Kuchar (27), Tringale (56), Hadley (72), Molder (87), Cink (103) and Thompson (117) are all in position to advance. The top 125 qualify for the playoffs, which begin Aug. 27-30 with The Barclays at Edison, N.J.
