Live Scoring/Sunday Tee Times

Columbus, Ohio – Bo Andrews shot rounds of 70 and 71 Saturday, while Seth Reeves followed by shooting 70-72 to match par and lift Georgia Tech to a four-stroke lead over Alabama-Birmingham after two rounds of the Robert Kepler Invitational.

Ollie Schniederjans, a winner his last time out at the Valspar Invitational, posted rounds of 70-73 as the fourth-ranked Yellow Jackets shot 3-uynder-par 281 in the morning round and followed with a 7-over-par 291 in the afternoon when winds picked up and scores rose across the board on the 7,455-yard, par 71 Scarlet Course at the Ohio State University Golf Club.

Tech completed 36 holes at 4-over-par 572, while the 18th-ranked Blazers posted an 8-over-par 576. Liberty and UNLV are tied for third place at 581 (+13), followed by the 2012 Kepler champion Kent State (583, +15). Six of the 15 teams in the tournament are ranked among the nation’s top 50.

“We fought hard today,” said Tech coach Bruce Heppler, whose Yellow Jackets are bidding to win their second tournament of the spring and fourth of the year. This is a very good test for us in terms of the difficulty of the golf course and the wind conditions. We handled it well today, and we got positive results from everybody. The winds are forecast to gust up to 30 miles an hour tomorrow, so we’ll need everyone to be on top of their games.”

Andrews, a senior from Raleigh, N.C., who finished third at the Valspar Invitational, is in fourth place individually at 1-under-par 141, two shots behind Ohio State’s Frederik Hammer (139, -3). Kent State’s Sebastian Bendsen and Northwestern’s Andrew Whalen are tied for second place at 2-under 140.

Reeves, a Duluth, Ga., senior, who has three top-20 finishes this spring, is in a four-way tie for fifth place at even-par 142, while Schniederjans is in a four-way tie for ninth place at 143 (+1). Anders Albertson is in a tie for 20th place at 146 after rounds of 71-75 Saturday, and Richard Werenski is tied for 45th at 151.

Tech, UAB and Liberty are paired for Sunday’s final round and will tee off at 9:51 a.m.
