THE FLATS – Chesson Hadley, Stewart Cink lead the way for Tech in Las Vegas … Four Yellow Jackets set for Korn Ferry Q-school this week and next … David Duval goes back in time at Timuquana … Cameron Tringale halfway around the world with LIV Golf … More details below in this week’s Georgia Tech #ProJackets Report.

TWO JACKETS MAKE CUT AT SHRINERS CHILDREN’S OPEN
Chesson Hadley and Stewart Cink led the way among the five Yellow Jackets in Las Vegas last weekend for the Shriners Children’s Open. Hadley tied for 37th place at 12-under-par 272, while Cink tied for 44th at 11-under-par 273.
Paul Haley II, Vince Whaley and Richy Werenski missed the cut, while Anders Albertson and Matt Kuchar took the weekend off.
None of the Yellow Jacket tour pros are in the field for this week’s ZOZO Championship in Chiba, Japan, although Whaley is an alternate.

FOUR YELLOW JACKETS SET FOR STAGE 2 OF Q-SCHOOL
Four Yellow Jackets are set to compete in the second stage of qualifying for the Korn Ferry Tour in the next two weeks. J.T. Griffin and Luke Schniederjans, who made it out of separate first stage events two weeks ago, are both in the field for the Dothan, Ala., qualifier which takes place this week (Oct. 11-14). Chris Petefish and Tyler Strafaci will make their attempt next week (Oct. 18-21), Petefish in Murietta, Calif., and Strafaci in Plantation, Fla.
Second stage qualifying events are being conducted this week and next at five different locations, with the Q-School finals set to take place Nov. 4-7 in Savannah, Ga.

THREE JACKETS IN GPRO EVENT
Andy Ogletree led a three-man contingent of Yellow Jackets competing in last week’s Colonial Classic in Thomasville, N.C., tying for fifth place at 9-under-par 204, four shots off the lead. Chris Petefish finished 26th with a 2-under-par total of 211, while Will Dickson missed the cut.
Dickson continues to compete on the circuit on which he has won twice after failing to advance out of the first stage of Korn Ferry Tour qualifying school two weeks ago. Ogletree awaits his next Asian Tour event at the beginning of November.

DUVAL REMEMBERS IDYLLLIC DAYS AT TIMUQUANA
David Duval played a lot of golf at the Timuquana Country Club — so much that he couldn’t begin to hazard a guess.
“Every day,” he said on Thursday after playing in the pro-am of the Constellation Furyk & Friends PGA Tour Champions event that Duval is playing for the first time this week. “Some days it was 36 [holes], some days it was 45, some days it was nine, some days it was 54. I don’t know how you’d keep track of that.”
Duval was the son of Timuquana head pro Bob Duval and learned to play the game under his father’s tutelage until he was 15, when Bob Duval accepted the same job at the Plantation at Ponte Vedra.

TRINGALE TIES FOR 33RD AT BANGKOK
Georgia Tech’s Cameron Tringale tied for 33rd at last weekend’s LIV Golf Series event in Bangkok, Thailand, posting a 6-under-par score of 210 and earning $144,000.
The winning score at Stonehill Golf Club was Eugenio Chacarra’s 19-under-par 197, and 44 of the 47 competitors broke par.
Tringale has earned just over $647,000 in three LIV Golf events after accumulating a little over $3 million on the PGA Tour in 2022-23. The series moves to Jeddah, Egypt this week before finishing the season in Miami the weekend of Oct. 28-30.
