KUCHAR AND WHALEY PLAY THE WEEKEND IN SEA ISLAND

Georgia Tech was well-represented last weekend at The RSM Classic, with six former Yellow Jacket golfers in the field for the conclusion of the fall portion of the PGA Tour’s 2021-22 schedule. The Tour now takes a break until the first week of January, with only a pair of unofficial money events taking place in December.

Only Matt Kuchar and Vincent Whaley made the cut at Sea Island, with Kuchar tying for 37^th place and Whaley tying for 63^rd after both players opened with 65s. Chesson Hadley opened with a 63 but followed with a 76 and missed the cut. Likewise, Stewart Cink, Seth Reeves and Richy Werenski failed to advance to the weekend.

As the Tour breaks, four Jackets sit within the top 125 in FedEx Cup points, with Cameron Tringale leading the way at No. 13, followed by Whaley at No. 58, Kuchar at No. 91 and Seth Reeves at No. 99.

THIS AND THAT

Matt Kuchar will team up once again with former Georgia All-American Harris English in an attempt to win their third title together at the QBE Shootout, an unofficial PGA Tour event which will be held Dec. 8-12 at Tiburon Golf Club in Naples, Fla. The duo won the event in 2013, 2014 and 2016, and finished second in 2015.

Kuchar, Stewart Cink and David Duval are all entered in the field for the annual PNC Father-Son championship at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club in Orlando, Fla. Cink and Duval (and their sons) have both won this event.
