THE FLATS – As the PGA Tour heads begins holiday break in its 2017-18 schedule, six former Yellow Jackets finished up their fall seasons at the RSN Classic last weekend with mixed results … J.T. Griffin and James White look forward to the finals of Web.com Tour qualifying … That and more in this week’s Georgia Tech #ProJackets Report.
Stewart Cink, Matt Kuchar and Chesson Hadley posted solid performances at the RSM Classic last weekend in Sea Island, Ga., and improved their FedEx Cup positions. Cink tied for 25th (273, -9) and improved to No. 67 in points, while Kuchar tied for 29th (274, -8) and moved up to No. 107, and Hadley tied for 37th (275, -7) and remained No. 8. Except for Hadley’s third-round 70, those three shot every round in the 60s.
Ollie Schniederjans (No. 60), Cameron Tringale (No. 124) and Richy Werenski (No. 130) all missed the cut.
Several off-season, unofficial events will be played over the next month, including the Hero World Challenge the week after Thanksgiving in New Providence, The Bahamas, and the QBE Shootout team event Dec. 8-10 in Naples, Fla.
At the RSM Classic, Hadley was honored as the Web.com Tour Player of the Year after winning two events and finishing atop the list for combined regular-season and Finals earnings. He has already doubled that take in four fall PGA Tour events.
Georgia Tech alum Chesson Hadley won twice on the Web.com Tour in 2017, added two runner-up finishes, and was voted by his peers as Player of the Year. The award marks the culmination of a memorable journey that began at last December’s Web.com Tour Qualifying Tournament.

Web.com Tour: J.T. Griffin and James White have a couple of weeks to prepare for the finals of the Web.com Tour qualifying school, which will be played Dec. 7-10 in Chandler, Ariz., where the top 45 finishers (and ties) earn full status on the Web.com Tour for 2018.
Griffin tied for 14th (283, -5) to advance out of the second-stage event in Dothan, Ala., while White tied for fifth (276, -12) to advance from the qualifier in McKinney, Texas.
