Glencoe, Ala. – Seth Reeves fired a 6-under-par 66 Tuesday in the final round and shared medalist honors with two others at the Grub Mart Intercollegiate golf tournament at Silver Lakes Golf Club. Reeves became the third individual winner (James White has won twice) for the Yellow Jackets in a tournament this year.

The red-shirt freshman from Duluth, Ga., overcame an opening-round 76 Monday, followed by a 71, to come back from a nine-stroke deficit. He finished the tournament with a 54-hole total of 213 (3-under-par), a career-best score, and tied with Kristjan Einarsson of Nicholls State and Tom Robson of Jacksonville State.

“I’m very proud of Seth today,” said assistant coach Christian Newton. “He showed great patience and maturity to bounce back with a great final 36 holes after such a rocky start.”

Junior Minghao Wang shot a 73 Tuesday and finished in a tie for 10th place at 2-over 218, giving the Yellow Jackets two top-10 finishers. Junior William Miller tied for 38th place following a 72 Tuesday, and posted a tournament total of 225 (9-over-par).

Tech is next in action April 16-17 in the Yellow Jacket Invitational at the Golf Club of Georgia in Alpharetta. The final tune-up for the Jackets before the Atlantic Coast Conference championship the following week, the tournament has a small field which includes Georgia State, Maryland, Troy, UAB and UNC Wilmington.
