Burlington, Iowa – All-American James White shot a 1-under-par 71 Tuesday to complete a top-20 finish, and 4th-ranked Georgia Tech shot a 6-over 294 to finish eighth in the Golfweek Conference Challenge at Spirit Hollow Golf Club.

White, a senior from Acworth, Ga., and Anders Albertson, a freshman from Woodstock, Ga., who shot a closing 75 Tuesday, tied for 18th place individually with two other golfers at 4-over-par 220, 11 shots behind medalist Stephen Jaeger of Chattanooga, who shot a 73 Tuesday for a 54-hole total of 7-under 209.

Sophomores Seth Reeves and Bo Andrews contributed a 73 and 75, respectively, Tuesday for the Yellow Jackets, who finished with a 25-over-par total of 889. Freshman Ollie Schniederjans closed with a 79.

Andrews finished tied for 31st at 223, Reeves tied for 56th at 230, and Schniederjans tied for 70th at 237.

We played better for most of the day,” said head coach Bruce Heppler. “We gave up six or seven shots coming in which cost us a couple of places. We have a lot of growing and learning ahead of us, lots of work to do before we leave for the Brickyard next week.”

Arkansas, which began the day in third place, posted a 3-under-par round of 285 and leaped past Chattanooga to win the tournament by seven shots at 5-under 859. The Moccasins (2-over 866) had led after each of the first two rounds. Oklahoma State finished third at 3-over 867, followed by New Mexico (11-over 875) and California (14-over 878).

Iowa, Ball State, Tech, New Mexico State and Tulsa finishes 5 through 10, followed by Kennesaw State, Southeastern Louisiana, North Texas, Xavier and UC Irvine.

Tech returns to action Oct. 7-9 at the Brickyard Collegiate in Macon, Ga.
