KUCHAR RETURNS TO ACTION AS PGA TOUR RETURNS TO U.S.

None of the Yellow Jackets on the PGA Tour journeyed to Japan for last weekend’s ZOZO Championship, and only Matt Kuchar is in the field this week as the Tour comes back to the United States for the CJ Cup at Congaree Golf Club in Ridgeland, S.C.

TWO YELLOW JACKETS SET FOR STAGE 2 OF Q-SCHOOL

Chris Petefish and Tyler Strafaci will make their attempt to reach the finals of the Korn Ferry Tour qualifying school this week (Oct. 18-21), Petefish in Murietta, Calif., and Strafaci in Plantation, Fla. J.T. Griffin and Luke Schniederjans both failed to advance last week from their second-stage event in Dothan, Ala., Griffin tying for 46^th and Schniederjans tying for 64^th.

The Q-School finals set to take place Nov. 4-7 in Savannah, Ga.

TRINGALE TIES FOR 41^ST IN LIV EVENT

Georgia Tech’s Cameron Tringale tied for 41^st at last weekend’s LIV Golf Series event in Jeddah, Egypt, posting a 2-over-par score of 212 and earning $131,000.

Brooks Koepka won the event in a playoff over Peter Uihlein after both players tied at 12-under-par.

Tringale has earned just over $778,000 in three LIV Golf events after accumulating a little over $3 million on the PGA Tour in 2022-23. The series finishes the season in Miami the weekend of Oct. 28-30.

DUVAL TIES FOR 50^TH AT SAS CHAMPIONSHIP

In a week with few former Yellow Jackets in action, David Duval tied for 50^th place at the SAS Championship (even-par 216) as the PGA Tour Champions finished off its regular season.

Duval is 86^th in the points race for the Charles Schwab Cup and did not qualify to compete in the three-event playoff series that begins this week in Richmond, Va.
