THE FLATS – Cameron Tringale earns third top-10 finish of the season at Torrey Pines … Did you know that Richy Werenski is the only player to make two holes-in-one at the Farmers? … Anders Albertson makes 2022 Korn Ferry Tour debut… More details below in this week’s Georgia Tech #ProJackets Report.

TRINGALE EARNS THIRD TOP-10 FINISH OF THE SEASON
Still looking for his first career win, Cameron Tringale came up one stroke out of a playoff in his second start of the 2022 calendar year, tying for third place at the Farmers Insurance Open. The veteran PGA Tour pro put himself in position with opening rounds of 67-65 and then closed with a 2-under-par 70 Saturday to finish at 14-under-par 274 at the Torrey Pines Golf Course. Will Zalatoris and Luke List finished tied at 15-under-par, with List winning the tournament on the first playoff hole.
Tringale hit 12 of 18 greens in regulation during his final round. After a drive to the right side of the fairway on the 454-yard par-4 fifth hole, Tringale had a 170-yard approach shot, setting himself up for the birdie. This moved Tringale to 1-under for the round. After a drive to left rough on the par-5 18th, Tringale hit his 99-yard approach to 6 feet, setting himself up for a birdie. This moved Tringale to 2-under for the round.
It was his third top-10 finish this year following a runner-up at the ZOZO Championship and a T-7 at the Houston Open before the holiday break, the 29th of his career in 318 starts, and his second top-10 in the event. He moved up to No. 7 on the FedEx Cup points list and surpassed $16 million in career earnings.
Four other Yellow Jackets that competed last weekend – Chesson Hadley, Seth Reeves, Richy Werenski and Vincent Whaley – all missed the cut.
The Tour moves North this week to the Monterrey Peninsula for the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, where Stewart Cink and Matt Kuchar return to action along with Hadley, Reeves, Tringale, Werenski and Whaley.

WERENSKI AIMS FOR MORE FARMERS HISTORY
At the Farmers Insurance Open, go ahead and call Richy Werenski “Mr. Ace.”
The 30-year-old was born in Springfield, Mass., home of a little James Naismith invention called basketball. He attended Georgia Tech, where in 1888 a steam whistle that used to call students to shop classes now signals the end of current study sessions three days a week.
Werenski plays out of Aiken, S.C., a place that puffed out its collective chest for decades about The Great American Lobster Race that featured “crustaceans racing for glory.”
Richy owns his own quirky corner of history on the opposite side of the country in San Diego. He carded the last hole-in-one at the Farmers, in 2021. The player with the one before that? Yep, Werenski in 2020.

ALBERTSON MAKES 2022 KORN FERRY DEBUT IN BAHAMAS
Anders Albertson made his 2022 debut last week in the Bahamas Great Abaco Classic and tied for 57th place after a closing 78. The Yellow Jacket All-American was in position for a higher finish after a third-round 67, but wound up with 1-under-par total of 287.
Paul Haley II and Ollie Schniederjans both missed the cut.
The tour moves to Panama this week for the Panama Championship. J.T. Griffin, the only Yellow Jacket in the field, makes his 2022 debut.
