Atlanta – The No. 27 Georgia Tech men’s tennis team kicks off their season Saturday, Feb. 3 at 10 a.m. with a double header against Georgia Southern and Radford at the Bill Moore Tennis Center.
The Jackets hold the all-time series lead over Georgia Southern, 15-to-9, and won last meeting, the season opener on Jan. 31, 2004, 7-0.
Tech has never faced Radford.
The Jackets are led by seniors Zach Rath, with a career singles record of 57-and-54, and Eric Molnar, who joined the Jackets as a transfer from Colorado with a 55-and-56 career record.
Rath sat out of competition this fall due to injury while Molnar recorded 2-and-4 record in singles and went 4-and-4 in doubles this fall.
Junior David North starts his 2007 campaign ranked No. 36 in the country by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association after recording a 14-and-4 singles record and 9-and-5 doubles record this fall including a trip to the finals of the ITA Mideast Indoor Regional with teammate George Gvelesiani.
The Jackets finished last season ranked No. 30 with a 12-and-10 record.
