Tech Golf Team Ranked No. 1

ATLANTA – Georgia Tech’s golf team is ranked No. 1 in the nation, according to the latest Golfweek/Sagarin men’s team rankings released Wednesday.

The Yellow Jackets have had a strong fall season thus far, posting two second-place finishes, at the Golfweek/Preview Invitational and the Jerry Pate National Intercollegiate, and one third-place effort, at the Isleworth Collegiate earlier this week, in three fall events.

Three of Tech’s players rank among the nation’s top 18 individuals in the Golfweek/Sagarin ratings. Roberto Castro, a sophomore from Alpharetta, Ga., who has finished in the top-10 in all three fall events, is rated No. 7. Nicholas Thompson, a senior from Coral Springs, Fla., with two top-10 finishes, is ranked No. 12, and Chan Song, a senior from Orlando, Fla., with three top-20 showings, is ranked No. 18.
