Second Round Suspended at ASU Golf

Inclement weather forced suspension of the second round of the Administaff Augusta State Invitational golf tournament Saturday. The second round will resume at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, and the scheduled third round will not be played, making the event a 36-hole tournament.

All but six teams had begun the second round when play was suspended. Georgia Tech’s Taylor Hall, J.T. Griffin and David Dragoo had played three holes.

Seventh-ranked Tech, which began the round in fourth place at even-par 288, moved into a tie for third with Lamar at 1-under-par. The Yellow Jackets are three shots off the lead of UCLA, which had not yet teed off. North Carolina (2-under-par) was in second.

At the Yale Spring Opener in New Haven, Conn., Freshman Paul Haley shot a 1-under-par 69 Saturday and is one shot off the lead. Zachary Vinal of Binghamton shot a 68 to take the first-round lead.

Junior Adam Cohan is in a group of seven players tied at 72. Sophomore Daniel Bowden shot 76 and is in a tie for 61st place.

The final round of the 36-hole event is set for Sunday at the Course at Yale.
