Getting some traction as a rookie on the Web.com Tour, Seth Reeves turned in his best finish yet last weekend, a tie for third place at the Corales Puntacana Resort and Club Championship in the Dominican Republic. The 2013 Tech graduate finished just two shots off the lead at 18-under-par 270.

Reeves took a big leap in Web.com Tour earnings from No. 69 to 31 with his performance over the weekend. He has missed three cuts in eight events this year, but has finished 31st or higher in four tournaments, including a T-25 at Colombia and T-16 at the United Leasing event in Indiana three weeks ago.

Meanwhile, 2012 graduate James White earned status on the MacKenzie Tour (PGA Tour Canada) by finishing in a tie for 12th place at the Tour’s qualifying school in Courtenay, British Colombia. He earned an exemption into the Tour’s first four events, beginning with the Freedom 55 Financial Open June 1-4 in Vancouver. Current Tech senior Vincent Whaley has conditional status on the tour due to his tie for 20th finish at the tour’s qualifying tournament in Florida in mid-April.

Roberto Castro, Matt Kuchar, Bryce Molder and Cameron Tringale are in the field for the PGA Tour’s biggest event, The Players Championship, this weekend at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla. Kuchar won the tournament in 2012 by two shots over a crowd of pursuers that included Rickie Fowler, Martin Laird, Ben Curtis and Zach Johnson.

Kuchar is coming off a two-week break and stands 47th in FedEx Cup points, while Molder was the only one of six former Jackets to make the cut at last weekend’s Wells Fargo Championship in Wilmington, N.C.
