THE FLATS – Nicholas Thompson, Anders Albertson and Chesson Hadley all made the cut at last weekend’s Web.com Tour event in Mexico. Thompson maintained his 11th-place position in web.com Tour earnings by tying for 16th place, while Albertson and Hadley tied for 41st and remain among the top 55. The top 25 earners at the end of the regular season secure PGA Tour cards for 2017-18.

The Yellow Jackets remain No. 5 this week in cumulative earnings on the Web.com Tour. The Tour moves to the Dominican Republic this weekend, where Albertson, Reeves and Thompson will compete.

Only four of Tech’s alumni on the PGA Tour were in action at the PGA Tour’s team-format event at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans. With two days of alternate shot and two days of best ball, none of the Yellow Jackets made it to Sunday. Former Tech teammates Ollie Schniederjans and Richy Werenski teamed up to shoot 3-under-par over 54 holes, but their 76 on Saturday put them in the “made cut, but did not finish” category.

Cameron Tringale teamed up with Patrick Rodgers, and Roberto Castro with Scott Stallings, but neither team played the weekend.

Castro, Hadley, Tringale and Werenski join Stewart Cink and Bryce Molder in the field for this week’s Wells Fargo Championship in Wilmington, N.C.
