THE FLATS – All four Georgia Tech alumni in the field made the cut at last weekend’s CIMB Classic in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Nicholas Thompson was the Yellow Jackets’ highest finisher at T-21 after posting a 7-under-par total of 281.
Stewart Cink (2-over 290) tied for 56th place, Roberto Castro (3-over 291) tied for 61st and Chesson Hadley (5-over 293) tied for 65th. Thompson was the only one of the four to improve his FedEx Cup ranking.
The Tour returns to the States this weekend at the Sanderson Farms Championship in Jackson, Miss. Castro, David Duval, Troy Matteson and Thompson are currently in the field.
Seth Reeves, who graduated last May, tied for 21st place in his third eGolf Tour event, the Championship at Red Hawk, with an 11-under-par 276. Reeves has also advanced to the second stage of Web.com Tour Q-school.
