ATLANTA – Georgia Tech’s golf team, which returns three of its five starters from last year’s Atlantic Coast Conference champions, has been ranked No. 8 in the preseason poll published by Golf World magazine.
Junior Cameron Tringale, a two-time All-American from Laguna Niguel, Calif., and sophomore Chesson Hadley, an honorable mention All-American as a freshman from Raleigh, N.C., are both listed among the magazine’s top 50 players to watch in 2007-08. Tringale is rated ninth.
Tringale led Tech in stroke average last year, had five top-10 finishes, and has a 70.38 norm in NCAA championship events. Hadley, who didn’t play a fall event as a freshman, came on strong in the spring with top-10 finishes in the ACC Championship, NCAA East Regional and NCAA Championship.
