TRINGALE POSTS ANOTHER HIGH FINISH IN LIV GOLF

Continuing a productive calendar year 2023 in the LIV Golf Series, Cameron Tringale tied for sixth place last weekend at the LIV Golf Invitational event in London, posting a 9-under-par score of 204 to finish six shots out of the lead.

Tringale has finished in the top 10 of the last three events in the series, and he has not finished out of the top 20 all season, compiling earnings in excess of $3 million.

The series returns to the United States for its next three events, beginning Aug. 4-6 at The Old White Course at the Greenbrier in West Virginia.

WERENSKI, KUCHAR PLAY THE WEEKEND AT JOHN DEERE

Six players made the trip to the Quad Cities last weekend for the John Deere Classic, but only Richy Werenski and Matt Kuchar survived the cut and played the weekend.

Werenski opened with a 65 to list near the top of the leaderboard, but finished in a tie for 42^nd place at 9-under-par 275, while Kuchar started 69-69 but finished 67^th at 1-under-par 283 at TPC Deere Run.

Paul Haley II and Chesson Hadley, working to get inside the top 125 in FedEx Cup points as the regular season comes down the home stretch, both missed the cut, as did Vincent Whaley and Ross Steelman.

The PGA Tour has two events on the slate this week, the Genesis Scottish Open in North Berwick, Scotland, where Hadley is on the alternate list, and the Barbasol Championship in Nicholasville, Ky., where Haley, Werenski and Whaley are in the field.

Stewart Cink tells me he’s going to make his 2nd @championstour start next week at the Senior Players (@KauligChamp ) at Firestone.

Makes sense. He won a WGC at @FirestoneCC in 2004 and took @TigerWoods to a playoff there in 2006.
