THE FLATS – Eli Walker Campbell has signed with Georgia Tech golf, head coach Ryan Hybl announced on Tuesday, completing the Yellow Jackets’ 2026-27 roster.
“Eli has what it takes to thrive at Georgia Tech,” said Hybl. “He is great in the classroom, persistent in his daily approach and will not shy away from the hard stuff.”
Campbell spent his freshman collegiate season at Oklahoma with Hybl, earning a spot on the Southeastern Conference First-Year Academic Honor Roll. A top prospect out of high school, Campbell was ranked as the No. 72 player in the country by Junior Golf Scoreboard. He was a two-time (2024, 2025) TAPPS 5A state champion and 2023 runner-up for Fort Bend Christian Academy in Richmond, Texas. He was also a finalist for USA Today High School Sports Golfer of the Year award as a junior.
In junior competition, Campbell finished 6th at the 2024 Elite Invitational, finished runner-up at the 2023 Butterfield Bermuda Junior Championship and was champion at the 2022 Jackie Burke Cup.
“I chose Georgia Tech because it offered the complete experience I was looking for as a student-athlete,” Campbell said. “It was always a dream of mine to follow Coach Hybl and work with the best college golf coach in the nation. The practice facilities and courses around Atlanta are elite and provide the best opportunity to compete at the highest level. Georgia Tech’s rich history and tradition made this decision even more special, and I wanted to be part of a program with such a strong legacy. Also, Georgia Tech’s incredible academics gave me the opportunity to challenge myself in the classroom while preparing for my future beyond athletics. I am super fired up to be a Yellow Jacket and ready to get to work!”
Campbell joins Georgia Tech’s roster that features three returners – senior Kale Fontenot, junior Albert Hansson and 5th year Brady Rackley IV – and six newcomers.
