THE FLATSPaul Haley II finishes fourth in final Korn Ferry Tour eligibility points … Luke Schniederjans and Tyler Strafaci enjoys strong weekend on Canadian circuit … Cameron Tringale ties for 21st in first LIV Golf event … More details below in this week’s Georgia Tech #ProJackets Report.

HALEY WINDS UP 4TH IN FINAL ELIGIBILITY AMONG KORN FERRY TOUR GRADUATES

Paul Haley II was unable to hold on to the top spot in the Korn Ferry Tour eligibility list, slipping to fourth place in combined points (regular season plus finals) after tying for 65th place at the Korn Ferry Tour Championship last weekend in Newburgh, Ind. Justin Suh, who won the Tour Championship, earned full exempt status with his win and finish at the top of the combined points list.

The 2011 ACC Champion, who finished third in the regular season points list, and Anders Albertson, who finished 25th, have a week off before the 2022-23 PGA Tour season begins next week with the Fortinet Championship in Napa, Calif.

Meanwhile, several Yellow Jackets will begin the long haul of qualifying for the Korn Ferry Tour next week, when the first stage of qualifying begins at three sites. Twelve first-stage sites will be conducted between now and the end of September, with the second stage of qualifying occurring in October and the final stage Nov. 4-7.

SCHNIEDERJANS, STRAFACI HAVE STRONG WEEKENDS IN CANADA

Luke Schniederjans and Tyler Strafaci made significant leaps up the Fortinet Cup points list with strong performances last weekend in the GolfBC Championship.

Schniederjans shared the first-round lead after carding a 7-under-par 64, and followed up with rounds of 67-67-68 to finish in sixth place (-18), while Strafaci tied for 11th place at 15-under-par 269. It was Schniederjans’ highest finish this year on PGA Tour Canada and his third top-10 finish on the circuit, and moved up to 25th on the points list. Strafaci also posted his top finish this year and moved up to 59th (from 90th) in points.

Players who finish among the top 10 in points earn Korn Ferry Tour status for 2023.

TRINGALE HAS SOLID LIV GOLF DEBUT

In what’s expected to be a big week for the LIV Golf Series announcing its next wave of signings, the first domino has fallen.

Cameron Tringale, who joined the fledgling LIV Golf Series following the conclusion of the PGA Tour season, competed in his first event last weekend at The International Golf Club in Bolton, Mass., outside of Boston. The 13-year PGA Tour veteran tied for 21st place at 5-under-ar 205 and earned a check for $171,200.

Since turning professional in 2009, Tringale made $17,426,908 in 338 starts on the PGA Tour. Tringale, who’s ranked 53rd in the world, has finished second four times in his career but never won. Tringale made it into the FedEx Cup Playoffs this year, missing the cut at the FedEx St. Jude Invitational. But, he was high enough in the standings to make it into the BMW Championship, where he finished 5 over after four rounds.
