THE FLATS – Paul Haley II building momentum for transition to PGA Tour … J.T. Griffin leads Yellow Jacket trio on Canadian circuit … Cameron Tringale announces move to LIV Golf … More details below in this week’s Georgia Tech #ProJackets Report.

HALEY II BUILDING MOMENTUM FOR LEAP TO PGA TOUR
Paul Haley II may have a guaranteed spot on the PGA Tour for 2022-23, but that hasn’t kept him from competing in strong fashion in the Korn Ferry Tour Finals. Haley battled to the finish at last weekend’s Nationwide Children’s Hospital Championship, posting a runner-up finish, two shots behind winner David Lingmerth, at the Ohio State University Scarlet Course.
Haley’s 15-under-par 269 total and second-place finish elevated him to the top of the Korn Ferry Tour’s points list heading into this weekend’s Korn Ferry Tour Championship in Newburgh, Ind. The 2011 ACC Champion reached 16-under-par twice during the final round Sunday but could not catch Lingmerth, who earned his PGA Tour card with the win.
Haley now has six top-10 finishes and 10 top-25s in 23 events this season, and surpassed $1 million in career earnings on the Korn Ferry Tour with his performance last weekend.
Seth Reeves, who finished outside the top 125 on the PGA Tour this season, needs to finish among the top 25 in Finals earnings to retain his privileges, but missed the cut in the first two Finals events.
Anders Albertson, who has earned his Tour card for 2022-23, sat out last weekend’s event but is back in action for this weekend’s Tour Championship.
Climbing to the top! 📈

GRIFFIN LEADS JACKETS ON CANADIAN TOUR
J.T. Griffin led the trio of Yellow Jackets on the PGA Tour Canada last weekend, tying for 56th place at the CRMC Championship in Minnesota, the tour’s first event to be played south of the Canadian border. He posted a 7-under-par total of 273 and sits No. 39 on the Fortinet Cup points list.
Luke Schniederjans and Tyler Strafaci both missed the cut and stand 37th and 90th, respectively, on the points list.
Two events remain on the 2022 schedule, this week’s GolfBC Open and the Fortinet Cup Championship two weeks after.

TRINGALE MAKING MOVE TO LIV GOLF
In what’s expected to be a big week for the LIV Golf Series announcing its next wave of signings, the first domino has fallen.
Cameron Tringale, a 13-year PGA Tour veteran who hasn’t found the winner’s circle in 338 starts, announced on his Twitter he was not renewing his PGA Tour membership for next season and joining LIV Golf. He will compete in his first event this weekend at The International Golf Club in Bolton, Mass., outside of Boston.
Since turning professional in 2009, Tringale has made $17,426,908 in 338 starts and holds the dubious distinction as the man to win the most money without ever winning a PGA Tour event. Tringale, who’s ranked 53rd in the world, has finished second four times in his career, including a tie for second at the 2021 Zozo Championship. He also finished tied for third at the Farmers Insurance Open and T-6 at the Genesis Scottish Open.
Tringale made it into the FedEx Cup Playoffs this year, missing the cut at the FedEx St. Jude Invitational. But, he was high enough in the standings to make it into the BMW Championship, where he finished 5 over after four rounds.
Tringale was the highest-ranked former Yellow Jacket on the FedEx Cup points list in 2021-22. His exit leaves Tech with six full-time members for 2022-23 – holdovers Stewart Cink, Chesson Hadley, Matt Kuchar and Vincent Whaley and Korn Ferry Tour graduates Anders Albertson and Paul Haley II.

I’ve found pizza flavored Combos. I’d eat a Nike tennis shoe before I’d have one of those. The cheddar cheese and pretzel Combo is the greatest culinary achievement since the hush puppy. And it’s just disappeared. Gone. It’s a cover up. Nothing about it on the news

The Tootsie Roll shortage is gonna cause BIG problems. On long drives the only thing that keeps me awake is a fountain Dr. Pepper over crushed ice and the big Tootsie Roll. It’s all fun and games until people start falling asleep at the wheel and running off the road.
