Roberto Castro has finished in the top 10 four straight weeks on the Web.com Tour.
THE FLATS – Chesson Hadley keeps rolling along with big weekend, while Matt Kuchar and Richy Werenski also post solid performances at The Players … Roberto Castro continues knocking on the door of the Web.com Tour in quest to regain PGA Tour card … This and more in this week’s edition of the Georgia Tech #ProJackets Report.
Hadley may be becoming the life of the party in the PGA Tour this year (see video below), but he is backing it up with continued excellent performances. The former Tech All-American tied for 11th place in his fourth appearance at The Players Championship last weekend, compiling an 11-under-par total of 277 that could have been much better if not for a Saturday 75. The Raleigh, N.C., native further solidified his opportunity to qualify for the season-ending Tour Championship, improving to 17th in FedEx Cup points.
Kuchar (66-71-71-70, -10) and Werenski (70-71-68-70, -9) each put together steady performances to improve their standing. Werenski has posted finishes of T11, T25 and T23 surrounding a missed cut at the Wells Fargo in the last four weeks.
Prior to THE PLAYERS Championship 2019, PGA TOUR veteran Chesson Hadley spends some time with players making their first professional start on the Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass.

Kuchar and Werenski move onto this week’s AT&T Byron Nelson in Dallas, Texas, while Cameron Tringale and former semi-retired Yellow Jackets David Duval and Troy Matteson, a Texas native and resident, also join the field.
Web.com Tour: Roberto Castro didn’t let a week break on the Web.com Tour let him cool off, firing rounds of 68-68-70-68 to tie for eighth place at the Knoxville Open. It was the fourth consecutive top-10 finish for the Atlanta resident, and he improved to 11th in earnings on the tour this season. The top 25 at the end of the regular season earn PGA Tour cards for 2018-19.
Anders Albertson matched his T-8 finish with rounds of 71-66-68-69 and jumped 11 spots to 49th in earnings, while Seth Reeves tied for 32nd place.
U.S. Open: Local qualifying tournaments for the 2018 U.S. Open Championship continued Monday, and J.T. Griffin advanced to sectional qualifying by shooting 66 and tying for third place at Georgia National Golf Club in McDonough, Ga.
Elsewhere: The PGA Tour China is back in business for 2018, and 2013 Tech freshman Shun Yat Hak has played solidly through four events, ranking 13th in the Order of Merit.
