Ollie Schniederjans posts top-5 finish at the Wichita Open on the Korn Ferry Tour … Stewart Cink makes the cut at the U.S. Open, moves on to scene of two of his Tour wins … Matt Kuchar falls short of Olympic qualification … More below in this week’s Georgia Tech #ProJackets Report.

SCHNIEDERJANS MAKES A CHALLENGE ON KORN FERRY TOUR
Ollie Schniederjans returned to the scene of his first Korn Ferry Tour victory last weekend and came within one hole of winning again at the Wichita Open benefitting KU Wichita Pediatrics.
The former ACC Player of the Year a three-time All-American at Georgia Tech, Schniederjans fired rounds of 67-64-65-66 at the Crestview Country Club for an 18-under-par total of 262, two strokes off the lead. The two-stroke shortfall to winning this event for the second time, unfortunately for Schniederjans, came in the form of a double bogey at the 72nd hole.
Still, Schniederjans made a nice move up the Korn Ferry Tour points list in his bid to regain his PGA Tour card, to No. 30 as the tour comes down to its final six regular season events. The top 25 players on the points list at the end of the regular season earn cards. Meanwhile, Seth Reeves (T-19) and Paul Haley II (T-32) held their positions inside the top-25.
Last weekend also was a reunion for the three Schniederjans brothers. Middle brother Ben caddies for Ollie, and they were joined by youngest brother Luke, who earned his way into the field through Monday qualifying.
Tech’s six regular Korn Ferry Tour members, including J.T. Griffin, who took last week off, return to action this weekend for the Live and Work in Maine Open.

CINK MAKES CUT AT U.S. OPEN
Georgia Tech’s longest-tenured PGA Tour pro, Stewart Cink, was the only one of three Yellow Jackets to make the cut at last weekend’s 121st playing of the U.S. Open Championship at Torrey Pines Golf Club in San Diego, Calif. The two-time winner this year on the PGA Tour tied for 57th place after rounds of 73-72-74-75 for a 10-over-par total of 294.
The 47-year-old Cink, who made his 15th cut in 21 U.S. Open starts, has won the Safeway Open and the RBC Heritage this year on Tour, and ranks No. 11 in FedEx Cup points, his highest standing in the 15 years the PGA Tour has used the points system to determine its champion.
Cink remains in action this week at an event he has won twice, the Travelers Championship in Cromwell, Conn., where he’ll be joined by Chesson Hadley, Cameron Tringale, Richy Werenski and Vincent Whaley, who are back in action after a week off. Cink captured his first PGA Tour victory there in 1997, and won the tournament again in 2008.

KUCHAR WILL NOT REPRISE OLYMPIC PERFORMANCE
The Tokyo Olympic men’s golf tournament is set to produce three new medalists.
All three Rio medalists — Justin Rose, Henrik Stenson and Matt Kuchar — failed to qualify outright for Tokyo.
The Olympic men’s golf field of 60 is drawn from the world rankings after this weekend’s U.S. Open.
Rose, Stenson and Kuchar went into the U.S. Open outside of outright qualification, and none made the cut at Torrey Pines.
