Georgia Tech looks to snap a two-game skid when it hosts Mercer for a Tuesday night tilt in McCamish Pavilion. The Yellow Jackets are coming off a hard-fought loss at Nebraska, falling to the Huskers, 80-72. Despite leading at halftime, Tech couldn’t hold on as Nebraska battled back in the second half. Kara Dunn led the way for the Jackets, scoring a career-high 22 points, while Tonie Morgan added 20 points to the scoreboard.

Mercer comes into the contest off a double-overtime win against Austin Peay, 78-75. The Bears seek their second consecutive win on Tuesday, hoping to string together a pair of wins for the first time this season. Briana Peguero and Mackenzie Johnson lead Mercer offensively, averaging 12.1 and 11.6 points per game, respectively. Johnson leads the team in rebounding, securing 7.7 per game on average.

Georgia Tech and Mercer are meeting on the hardwood for the 23rd time in program history on Tuesday night, and the first since 2016. The series dates back to the first meeting of 1980. Georgia Tech leads the all-time series, 16-6, and has taken the last eight straight. Mercer was last victorious in the series on Feb. 27, 1996.

Competitive Drive Initiative Turn 2

Looking to build on the success of last year’s Competitive Drive Initiative, Georgia Tech, the Georgia Tech Foundation and Georgia Tech athletics are partnering once again to launch Competitive Drive Initiative Turn 2. CDI Turn 2 has a goal of raising $2.5 million in new gifts to the Alexander-Tharpe Fund’s Athletic Scholarship Fund by Dec. 31, and Georgia Tech and the Georgia Tech Foundation will match eligible gifts to accelerate the impact for Tech athletics. Like last year, not only will gifts to CDI Turn 2 be matched, but so will the contributor’s benefits in the way of A-T Fund giving levels and priority points. To learn more and contribute online, visit atfund.org/turn2.
