Schniederjans Named ACC Golfer of the Month for February

March 3, 2017

Greensboro, N.C. – Georgia Tech’s Luke Schniederjans has been named the ACC Men’s Golfer of the Month for February, announced Friday by the conference office. It is the second time this year he has received the monthly honor.

Schniederjans, the younger brother of three-time All-American Ollie Schniederjans, won his second collegiate title two weeks ago at the Puerto Rico Classic, where he surged from sixth place in the final round with a 7-under-lar 66 to win by one stroke. His final round score was a career-best, and he finished with a 54-hole total of 206 (-10).

The Powder Springs, Ga., native leads the Yellow Jackets with a stroke average of 70.80 this year, and is ranked No. 36 in the nation according to the Golfweek/Sagarin Index. He has broken par in nine of 15 rounds.

Schniederjans won the monthly honor for September last fall after winning the first collegiate tournament in which he played, a 1-stroke victory at the Carpet Capital Collegiate (11-under-par 205). He shot all three rounds under par (69-66-70) en route to the individual title.

Schniederjans and the 24th-ranked Yellow Jackets return to action next weekend (March 10-12) when they compete in the Seminole Intercollegiate in Tallahassee, Fla.
