Complete Palmer Cup Rankings

Norman, Okla. – Georgia Tech golfer Ollie Schniederjans is ranked No. 1 in points among United States players in the Fall Palmer Cup rankings released this week by the Golf Coaches Association of America.

The top six golfers in the ranking from both the United States and Europe shall be among the 10 individuals selected to compete in the Palmer Cup at Walton Heath Golf Club. Using Golfstat’s NCAA Player Ranking as a base, the Palmer Cup Ranking awards bonus points for wins and high finishes and a negative bonus for poor finishes. The ranking also contains a strength of schedule component.

Schniederjans, who would be the eighth Yellow Jacket golfer to play for the USA team in the Palmer Cup, is No. 1 in the Golfstat rankings following a fall season in which the Yellow Jacket junior won two tournaments and earned top-five finishes in two others. He posted a cumulative scoring average of 69.5 and a head-to-head record of 309-5.

Schniederjans won the season-ending United States Collegiate Championship by four strokes with a 10-under par 206 for 54 holes, two shots shy of the tournament scoring record. The Powder Springs, Ga., native also shared medalist honors at the season-opening Carpet Capital Collegiate with a 9-under-par score of 207.

In between, he finished third at the Tar Heel Intercollegiate (-3) and tied for fourth at the Brickyard Collegiate (-8). At the Brickyard, he finished one stroke out of a three-way tie for the lead. His performances helped Tech win twice and earn two runner-up finishes in four fall events.

Anders Albertson, who had four top-20 finishes and two top-5s in the fall, is No. 14 in the Palmer Cup rankings. If he and Schniederjans both make the team, it would be the fourth time Tech has placed teammates on the U.S. team.
