Durham, N.C. – The third round of play at the NCAA Men’s Golf Championship was suspended at 3:00 p.m., on Friday afternoon and at the time play was halted, the Tech men’s golf team was tied for eighth place at 7-over-par. Heavy rains that soaked the Triangle area forced play to be stopped. The 72-hole event is being contested at the 7,086-yard, par-72 Duke University Golf Club in Durham, N.C.
The Yellow Jackets as a team had completed 10 holes of play, and were at 2-over-par for the tournament through 45 holes of play. Arizona continues to lead the team competition with a total of 14-under-par through 44 holes.
Tech’s individuals are being led in the third round by senior Bryce Molder, who was at 4-under-par through 11 holes of play on the day, and at 3-under-par for the tournament.
Play in the third round will begin at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday with a shotgun start to complete that round, with the final round beginning at approximately 9:00 a.m. with the first tee times of that round. Tech will play in threesomes with Georgia and Augusta State to finish the third round, with the same pairings remaining for the final round.
