TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – For the second straight day, ninth-ranked Georgia Tech were plagued by Florida State’s big innings as the Yellow Jackets fell 8-3 to the 14th-ranked Seminoles on Sunday at Dick Howser Stadium.

Georgia Tech (12-3, 0-3 ACC) has now lost nine straight ACC road games, while the Seminoles (13-3, 3-0 ACC) recorded 10+ hits in all three games of the series.

Freshman Joey Bart went 3-for-4 with 3 RBI, his second 3-hit, 3-RBI game of the week.

THE BASICS
• The Yellow Jackets have now lost nine straight ACC road games (last ACC road win was April 5, 2015, at Virginia Tech).
• Tech is now 298-103 all-time in the month of March under Danny Hall.
• Florida State leads the all-time series 73-45, including a 39-16 mark in Tallahassee.
Danny Hall is 35-40 all-time vs. Florida State.
• Georgia Tech has now used 15 different batting lineups to start the 2016 season.
• Freshman Joey Bart was the designated hitter for the first time this season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Florida State hung a two-spot in the bottom of the 1st. Taylor Walls drew a lead-off walk. Jonathan Hughes then surrendered three straight singles to the Seminoles. Cal Raleigh’s RBI single through the right side gave FSU a 1-0 lead. Quincy Nieporte’s RBI single to center increased the Seminoles lead to 2-0.
• The Seminoles extended their lead to 3-0 in the 3rd when Dylan Busby hit an RBI triple to the deepest part of the centerfield over the glove of a leaping Ryan Peurifoy.
• Georgia Tech scratched a run in the 4th. With two runners aboard, Joey Bart delivered a chopping RBI single through the left side of the infield to score Matt Gonzalez.
• FSU responded with a two-run 4th on Raleigh’s second RBI single and Nieporte’s RBI sacrifice fly to take a 5-1 lead.
• Florida State added three more runs in the 5th for an 8-1 lead.
• Tech managed to scratch two more runs in the 6th but nothing more after that. Bart drove in Kel Johnson and Gonzalez with a 2-RBI single through the right side.

• Freshman RHP Jonathan Hughes (3-1) suffered his first loss of the season, allowing five runs (three earned) on six hits in 3 2/3 innings.
