THE FLATS – Rookie Ollie Schniederjans continues to lead the Georgia Tech alumni contingent on the PGA Tour, turning in a tie for 18th place last weekend at the Valero Texas Open.

The performance, which included a second-round 67, lifted him to 33rd place in FedEx Cup points and in better position to make a deep run in the FedEx Cup playoffs.

Tech fielded its full complement of seven alumni last weekend in San Antonio, most of any institution on the PGA Tour, with Stewart Cink (T22), Matt Kuchar (T40) and Bryce Molder (57) all making the cut.

The Yellow Jackets rank eighth in cumulative earnings on the PGA Tour with more than $4.1 million collectively this season, and No. 4 in cumulative earnings on the Web.com Tour with more than $140,000.

Elsewhere: Seth Reeves notched his best finish yet on the Web.com Tour with a tie for 16th place last weekend at the United Leasing and Finance Championship in Newburgh, Ind. He moved up to 61st in Web.com Tour earnings this season (top 25 earn PGA tour cards for 2017-18). Nicholas Thompson and Anders Albertson both made the cut and tied for 62nd. Thompson is 11th in Web.com Tour earnings … Larry Mize teamed with Hall Sutton to tie for 26th place at the Bass Pro Shots Legends of Golf at Big Cedar Lodge in Ridgedale, Mo.
