ATLANTA – The 22nd-ranked Georgia Tech Women’s Basketball team has earned the No. 4 seed and a first round bye for the 2010 ACC Women’s Basketball Tournament, which will begin Thursday, March 4, at the Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, N.C.
The Yellow Jackets, who are scheduled to open play Friday at 11 a.m., will find out their quarterfinals opponent after No. 5 seeded Wake Forest takes on No. 12 seeded Miami in the first game of the four-day event.
Techs’ seed is its highest since earning a No. 4 seed for the 1993 tournament. This also marks the first time a Yellow Jacket team has earned a bye in the first round of the tournament.
The 33rd Annual ACC Women’s Basketball Tournament is set to tip-off at approximately 11 a.m. ET on Thursday, March 4, and will conclude with a 1 p.m. championship contest on Sunday, March 7. The title game as well as the semifinals showings will be broadcast by Fox Sports Net (FSN) in high definition, while the 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. games on Thursday, March 4, and Friday, March 5, will be televised on the league’s regional package (RSN).
