ATLANTA – The Georgia Tech Women’s Basketball team will partner with the Women’s Sports Foundation’s GoGirlGo! Atlanta for the inaugural MaChelle Joseph Golf Classic the team’s head coach announced Thursday.
The Yellow Jackets will continue their partnership throughout the season in an ongoing initiative to support GirlGoGirl! Atlanta in promoting good decision-making along with healthy choices to over 227,000 young women in the metro Atlanta area.
“I am very excited about partnering with the Women’s Sports Foundation’s GoGirlGo! Atlanta,” Joseph said. “I can not think of a better cause than to support an organization that touches the lives of so many young girls and encourages them to engage in physical activity to prevent health issues like heart disease which affects the lives of so many women.
“It was important to me that our First Annual Golf Classic benefit a cause that can have a lasting impact on the lives of people living right in our own neighborhoods, and GoGirlGo! is a perfect example of that.”
