Women’s Basketball Closes Road Swing at Clemson

No. 19 GEORGIA TECH (20-4, 8-4 ACC) at CLEMSON (11-13, 4-9 ACC)

Georgia Tech looks to extend its win streak to four-straight and complete the regular season sweep of Clemson when it visits Littlejohn Coliseum on Thursday. The Yellow Jackets picked up their 20th win of the season last Sunday at Boston College, defeating the Eagles handedly, 71-51. Three players finished in double-figures guided by Kara Dunn’s game-high 23 points, while Zoe Smith logged her second double-double in four games with 16 points and 11 rebounds. With her recent stretch of games, Smith jumped into the top 25 in the league in rebounding, coming in at No. 19.

Clemson comes into Thursday’s contest having dropped eight of its last nine games with its lone victory to break up the stretch coming against Miami on Jan. 23. Despite the skid, the Tigers took No. 13 North Carolina to the wire in Littlejohn, but fell by two, 53-51, last Sunday. Loyal McQueen continues to pace Clemson’s offense, averaging 13.2 points per game, while Mia Moore adds 10.9 points. Thursday’s game will serve as Clemson’s Hoopin’ for Hope pink game.

The Yellow Jackets took the first meeting this season against the Tigers in McCamish Pavilion, 89-65. Tonie Morgan etched her named into the Georgia Tech record book, logging a triple-double against the Tigers with 14 assists, 12 points and 12 rebounds. The win moved Tech to 50-46 all-time against Clemson in the series history. Tech has now taken 12 of the past 13 meetings.
