ATLANTA – The Yellow Jackets (13-14, 2-12 ACC) will have a rematch with Miami (16-11, 6-8 ACC) in the first round of the ACC Tournament after falling to the Hurricanes in double-overtime this past Sunday.

The Jackets and Hurricanes will face each other in the first round of the tournament for the second-straight year, and will meet at 9:30 p.m. Thursday, March 2nd, at the Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, N.C.
Georgia Tech earned the No. 11 seed in the 2006 ACC Tournament, while Miami is the No. 6 seed. The winner of the Tech-Miami contest will advance to play fourth-ranked Maryland in the quarterfinals on Friday, March 3rd, at 9:30 p.m.
Tech will be seeking its sixth ACC Tournament victory Thursday night, facing a Miami team that won both regular-season contests against the Jackets this season. Most recently, the Hurricanes won a 90-85 meeting in Coral Gables to hand Georgia Tech its first double-overtime loss in history. Prior to Sunday, the Jackets hadn’t played in a double-overtime game since the 1993 season.
The semifinals take place on Saturday, March 4 with the games slated for 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. The champion will be decided on Sunday, March 5 at 1 p.m. The semifinal and championship games will be nationally televised on Fox Sports Net and on Comcast SportsNet in the Baltimore/Washington, D.C. area.
