ATLANTA – Danielle Hamilton-Carter, who has signed a financial agreement to play at Georgia Tech in the fall, competed for the Swedish U20 National Team at the 2009 European Championships in Gdynia, Poland.
Hamilton-Carter started all eight games at the European Championships and finished second on the team with 10.3 points and 5.1 rebounds and shot an impressive 50 percent from the field for the national squad.
The 6-4 forward from Stockholm, Sweden scored 15 points in the team’s win over Belarus. She added a team-high 12 points in a loss to Latvia.
Hamilton-Carter continued her strong play at the tournament with a double-double against Lithuania. She finished with 13 points and 11 boards in the tough 75-66 defeat.
Overall, Hamilton-Carter scored in double-figures in five of Sweden’s eight contests during the tournament.
