Tech Opens ACC Tournament

May 25, 2005

The top-seeded Georgia Tech baseball team opens the Atlantic Coast Conference Tournament Wednesday at 7 p.m. against eighth-seeded Wake Forest, which had to win two games Wednesday to advance.

The ACC Baseball Tournament, which continues through Sunday in a double-elimination format, is being played at the Baseball Grounds in Jacksonville, Fla., for the first time.

Led by ACC Coach of the Year Danny Hall, Tech won its second straight regular-season title to earn the top seed. The Jackets (38-16, 22-8 ACC) are seeking their seventh ACC Tournament title, last winning the championship in 2003.

Radio coverage for all Georgia Tech games in the ACC Tournament is on WREK-FM (91.1), with Wes Durham and Randy Carroll calling the action. Television coverage is available for Saturday’s games on CSS, while Sunday’s championship game can be seen on FSN South.

A live webcast is available for all non-televised games in the tournament.
