>> Georgia Tech and North Florida battle for the first time on the diamond Tuesday afternoon in a midweek tilt at Russ Chandler Stadium on ESPN3.
>> Tech is 22-10 at home (10-5 in league play), averaging 6.1 runs per game, hitting .302 as a team and paced the .405 home average of Daniel Spingola. Of the Jackets’ 17 triples and 16 home runs, 15 of each have come at home.
>> The Yellow Jackets sit 14-13 in the ACC, all alone in fourth place in the Coastal and eighth place overall. The top 10 teams qualify for the ACC Tournament May 20-25 in Greensboro, N.C.
>> Behind one of the ACC’s best middle infield duos of 2B Mott Hyde and SS Connor Justus, the Jackets are tied for the NCAA lead in double plays (59). Tech is fielding .970 overall (.976 in ACC games), and also leads the NCAA with 20 outfield assists.
>> Matt Gonzalez, who paces the ACC with 64 hits, has accounted for four of the Jackets’ last seven game-winning RBI, including his walk-off single to beat Virginia Tech Friday night. His seven game-winning RBI are a team high.
