Tate To Undergo Surgery, Will Redshirt 2000-01 Season

ATLANTA (Jan. 18) – Georgia Tech senior forward Regina Tate will undergo surgery on Jan. 19 to repair a severe stress fracture in her left shin, Yellow Jacket head coach Agnus Berenato announced. Tate has missed every game this season after the injury was diagnosed in October.

Team surgeon Dr. John Xerogeanes will perform the surgery at Emory Abulatory Surgical Center on Friday.

“Regina is the heart of our team,” Berenato said. “We’re really sorry to lose her for the year, but we know this is what is best for her. We look forward to a full recovery and having Regina back next year.” Tate, one of two seniors on the Tech roster, has started 58 games during her career, averaging 7.1 points and 6.7 rebounds per contest.
