THE FLATS – Georgia Tech was unable to recover from an early 10-0 deficit Saturday afternoon as the 19th-ranked Yellow Jackets lost 15-6 to No. 12 NC State at Russ Chandler Stadium.

With the loss, Georgia Tech (23-11, 7-9 ACC) has now lost four straight games and three straight home games. NC State (26-9, 10-5 ACC) has now won the last four series meetings.

Making his career-first start on the mound, freshman RHP Burton Dulaney (1-2) was dealt the loss, allowing six runs on six hits in 1.0 inning. Georgia Tech used a season-high 10 pitchers on the afternoon.

THE BASICS
• Georgia Tech is now 16-6 at home this season.
• Georgia Tech has lost four straight ACC home games and four straight games overall.
• Tech’s 3-game home losing streak is its longest since April 19-21, 2013, when it lost all three games to NC State.
• NC State has now won the last four meetings. Georgia Tech leads the series 72-55 with a 36-16 advantage in Atlanta.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• NC State jumped on Georgia Tech starter Burton Dulaney early as the Wolfpack scored three runs in the 1st inning and never looked back. The Wolfpack opened with four straight hits – three singles and a double – that led to the game’s first run. NC State’s 1st inning scoring could have been more if not for Matt Gonzalez’s laser throw from left to get Stephan Pitarra out at home.
• The Wolfpack added five runs in the 2nd for an 8-0 lead. NC State followed with a run in both the 3rd and 5th innings for a 10-0 lead.
• NC State starter Brian Brown took a no-hitter two outs into the 5th inning. Brandon Gold broke up the no-no with an infield single to SS Joe Dunand. Trevor Craport followed with a ground-rule double to the right field corner. Ryan Peurifoy plated both Gold and Craport on a 2-RBI single to center.
• NC State and Georgia Tech traded 3-run frames in the 6th. Down 13-2, Brandt Stallings crushed a 3-run homer to right-center to cut the lead to 13-5.
• Tech added one more run in the 7th, but that would be the closest the Jackets would get.
• NC State added two more runs in the final two innings for a 15-6 win.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

• Junior LF Grant Wruble was the only Yellow Jacket with multiple hits, finishing 2-for-3 with an RBI. • Georgia Tech has now turned an NCAA-leading 51 double plays in 2016.
Brandon Gold made his first start at DH in 2016 and the fifth of his career. It is his first start at DH since May 15, 2015, at Miami.
