Spaces Still Available for 2007 MaChelle Joseph Basketball Camps

ATLANTA – The beginning of the 2007 MaChelle Joseph Basketball Camps is less than three weeks away, and there are spaces still remaining for those interested in attending this summer.

The first Individual Day Camp, which begins June 4 and continues through the 7th, targets players between the ages of seven and 17. The focus of day camps is on the fundamentals of basketball through station work and competition. Final registration for the Individual Day Camp is still open. Camp officials will also be available on Monday from 7:30 – 9:00 a.m. for last-minute registration.

Following the first Day Camp is the Elite Camp, which runs from June 14-17. The camp, open to all high school females, is geared towards advanced players that are preparing for the next level and all participants receive intense, individualized instructions from college coaches and players in the camper’s preferred position. All attendees will also receive information on weight training and nutrition, as well as NCAA rules.

The Team Camp, held from June 21-25, is open to all middle school, Junior Varsity, Varsity and AAU teams. The Camp offers teams a guaranteed eight games during the session. Each team will participate in mini clinics with Georgia Tech coaches and staff. New for this year, the camp will offer each athlete an individual athletic performance evaluation.

The program will conclude the summer camps with the Overnight Camp July 19-22, the second Individual Day Camp July 23-26 and Position Camp July 27-29. In the Overnight Camp, participants from the ages of 9-17 focus on the fundamentals of basketball and are divided by age and skill level while the Position Camp’s focus is on the participant’s preferred position and includes station work, competition and strength and conditioning information.
