THE FLATS – Georgia Tech indoor track and field concluded its weekend of competition at the Clemson Invitational and Vanderbilt Invitational on Saturday evening.
“We made some progress for sure this weekend,” head men’s coach Grover Hinsdale said. “The winter weather has been a factor in our training but the guys are fighting through it. We had several PRs set over the weekend, which we’re always looking for. Nahom Solomon’s 3000-meter race today was a great effort. We will get back at it on Monday as we prepare to head to Clemson next weekend.”
“We had some really good improvements this week from the women. Jeanine Williams was outstanding in the hurdles and so was Raven Stewart,” head women’s coach Alan Drosky said. “The 3000m group of Nicole Fegans, Mary Prouty, Liz Galarza, Hailey Gollnick, and Hana Herndon all had lifetime bests. Amy Ruiz and Haley Anderson were close to personal bests in the mile, and Marie Repasy had a huge personal best in the 5000m. Overall, we have to keep improving each week and we need get everyone healthy. We’re getting there but still have ways to go in a number of areas.”
The Yellow Jackets return to Clemson, S.C. next weekend when they compete in the Bob Pollock Invitational on Jan. 26-27.
