Seven Jackets Tabbed NFCA All-America Scholar Athletes

THE FLATS – Georgia Tech softball had seven different Yellow Jackets named 2021 Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athletes, as announced by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association.

Receiving the national academic recognition for the White and Gold were catcher Sara Beth Allen, infielder Mallorie Black, infielder Meghan Cassidy, outfielder Ariella Jackson, catcher Emma Kauf, former pitcher Madison McPherson and catcher Sandra Beth Pritchett.

To receive the honor, each of the aforementioned Jackets maintained a 3.5 or higher cumulative GPA for the fall and spring semesters. As a team, Tech also succeeded in the classroom maintaining a GPA above 3.0.

Kauf highlighted the group of esteemed Yellow Jackets, coming into the season voted preseason all-ACC after receiving first team all-ACC and all-ACC freshman honors last spring. En route to her recognition the top catcher in the conference in 2021, the Lincoln, Neb., native batted .345 with 48 hits, seven doubles, two triples and 10 homeruns for 33 RBI, 30 runs scored and a .640 slugging percentage along with six steals last season.
