CLEMSON, S.C. – Hours after belting out 14 hits in an extra-inning loss, the 26th-ranked Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets pounded a season-high 21 hits Saturday night en route to a 16-1 rout over No. 23 Clemson.
Georgia Tech (26-13, 9-10 ACC) hit a season-high four home runs. Freshman Tristin English went 2-for-3 with four RBI, including two home runs. Sophomore Trevor Craport tied a career-high with four hits, while hitting a home run with three RBI.
Saturday’s 16-1 win was Clemson’s (26-13, 9-11 ACC) worst home ACC loss since 2007.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Georgia Tech opened the game with a 4-run 1st inning. With two on and one out, Kel Johnson ripped an RBI single through the left side. On the next pitch, Tristin English cleared the bases with a 3-run home run to centerfield for a 4-0 Tech lead.
• Clemson got a run back in the bottom half of the 1st inning, cutting Tech’s lead to 4-1. With a full count, Chase Pinder hit a lead-off home run to right-center.
• Tech added two runs in the 2nd to extend its lead to 6-1. With two on and nobody out, Wade Bailey plated Ryan Peurifoy with an RBI ground out. Two batters later, Johnson notched his second RBI single of the night for a 6-1 lead.
• Tech’s hitting clinic continued into the 4th inning. The Yellow Jackets plated five runs in the frame, including a 2-RBI single up the middle by Trevor Craport and RBI singles by Ryan Peurifoy and Connor Justus.
• English and Craport added mammoth solo home runs in the 5th for a 13-1 Tech lead.
• The Yellow Jackets added three more runs in the 8th.
