>> The Yellow Jackets lead the all-time series 16-5 and are 4-3 versus the Owls on the road. Last season, the teams split with KSU winning 5-3 in 12 innings in Atlanta and Tech taking an 8-7 win at Stillwell Stadium. Kennesaw State finished 40-24 in 2014 and reached the NCAA Super Regionals before being dispatched by Louisville.

>> As a team, Tech leads the ACC in fielding percentage (.977), is second in average (.307) and slugging (.463), third in doubles (47) and home runs (17), and fourth in runs (147) and most walks (90). The Jackets rank in the NCAA’s top 25 in each of these categories, including seventh in doubles, 13th in slugging, 14th in scoring and 24th in fielding.

>> Tech is outscoring opponents 34-8 over the final two innings plus extras (22-4 in the eighth, 11-3 in the ninth and 1-1 in extras). The Jackets have already won twice via walk-offs after having just two walk-off wins last year.

>> The Jackets have benefited from strong late-game work from sophomore RHP Zac Ryan, who is already 3-0 with three saves and a 2.29 ERA. Of his team-best 10 appearances, eight have been scoreless, including six of the last seven. Ryan and Louisville’s Brendan McKay are the only two pitchers in the ACC with three or more saves AND three or more wins. McKay is 3-0 with four saves.

>> Freshman RF Kel Johnson is tied for the ACC lead and sixth nationally with six home runs. Among NCAA freshmen, he is tied for first in home runs, second in slugging (.722) second in RBI (22) and third in doubles (eight). He opened his career with a seven-game hit streak, was held hitless in back-to-back games and had an eight-game streak halted at Duke. He has been held hitless just three times this year. Six of his last seven games have been multi-hit efforts.

>> Senior Daniel Spingola and junior Matt Gonzalez each bring seven-game hitting streaks into the week. Gonzalez is hitting a team-best .458 (11-for-25) over his current seven-game hitting streak with eight RBI, five doubles and both of his home runs this season. Gonzalez has raised his average to .274 after opening the year just four for his first 25. Daniel Spingola, who led the ACC with 82 hits last season, is also riding a seven-game hitting and has reached base safely in 10 straight games. Spingola is hitting .429 (12-for-28) over his hit streak with seven runs, two doubles, a homer, two walks, a hit-by-pitch, and is 3-for-3 in stolen bases.

>> Sophomore C Arden Pabst has thrown out 67 percent of stolen-base attempts (10 of 15) against him this season, which is the NCAA’s fourth-best percentage. He was second in the ACC last season in runners caught stealing (16) and caught-stealing percentage (.410). On Feb. 22, Pabst clubbed a walk-off, three-run home run as Tech rallied to beat Albany.
