Nissan #ProJackets Baseball Report

June 14, 2017

THE FLATS — Georgia Tech #ProJacket Charlie Blackmon continues to have an all-star season in 2017-18, as he once again headlines the Yellow Jackets in this week’s Nissan #ProJackets Baseball Report.

With the MLB All-Star Game just around the corner, make sure to go HERE for your All-Star Game Ballot to vote for your #ProJackets!

Blackmon’s hot start has continued into the month of June, as the centerfielder ranks third in the National Leage in RBIs with 53 and fifth in hitting with a .331 batting average. Over his last 10 games, Blackmon has hit .375 (15-for-40) with two home runs, five doubles, seven walks, six RBIs and 13 runs scored.

His week also included a two-run home run versus the Cubs on June 10.

In a homecoming of sorts for Derek Dietrich, the Cleveland, Ohio native who has family ties to the Pittsburgh Pirates went 6-for-16 (.375) at the plate with a home run, two doubles, five RBIs and four runs scored in Pittsburgh on June 8-11. (Click here to read more on Dietrich’s magical night)

Here is the home run in Pittsburgh in front of his family and friends.

Matt Wieters and the Washington Nationals continue to stay well out in front atop of the National League East Division, while Blake Wood and the Cincinnati Reds are just four games out of first-place in the NL Central Division despite having a record of just 29-35 on the year to date.

Buck Farmer,  who was recalled to the Detroit Tigers on June 7, went 6.2 innings with five strikeouts in a win over the Angels that same night. For the Tigers this year, Farmer is 2-0 over three starts. He has posted an ERA of 3.52 and struck out 20 batters over 15.1 innings of work.

Below is a complete list of the Baseball #ProJackets in the majors this season.
