Atlanta – Juniors Janie Mitchell and Jill Ingram both earn spots on the Dean’s List for the 2006 Fall Semester. The two maintained a 3.00 GPA through the first semester of their junior year, successfully balancing the rigorous training, hectic schedules and demanding curriculum that come with being a basketball player at Georgia Tech.
Mitchell, a six-foot-one forward from Jackson, Miss. is majoring in Management and is currently leading the team in rebounding, averaging 7.6 RPG and is second on the squad in scoring with 15.9 PPG. Mitchell, who is a Tech co-captain, has recorded the team’s only two double-doubles this season, notching 14 points and 14 rebounds in an 83-41 over Appalachian State and scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds in and 82-50 win over Charleston.
Ingram is a five-foot-nine point guard from Charlotte, N.C. who is also majoring in Management. Ingram is a third-year starter for the Jackets and currently leads the Atlantic Coast Conference in assist-turnover ratio with a 2.83 ratio, giving up the ball only four times in the last four games.
Ashley Guerrant, Cheytoria Phillips and Jessica Williams also earned Dean’s List honors for the 2006 Fall Semester. All three former Georgia Tech women’s basketball players recently completed their degrees here at Tech and graduated on Dec. 16.
