THE FLATS – Georgia Tech women’s basketball senior Lotta-Maj Lahtinen was selected to the 2021-22 Academic All-District Women’s Basketball Team, as announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) on Thursday. This is the second Academic All-District honor for Lahtinen, which recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performance on the field and in the classroom.
A two-time All-ACC Academic Team honoree, Lahtinen carries a cumulative 3.64 grade-point average in the business administration program. She has earned a spot on the ACC Academic Honor Roll all three years as a Yellow Jacket and made Dean’s List multiple times at Georgia Tech.
This season on the hardwood, Lahtinen has started 24 games, is averaging 10.6 points per game and ranks second on the team in assists with 101. She crossed a prestigious milestone earlier this season, becoming the 33rd player in program history to join the 1,000-career points club.
Lahtinen is one of only two players representing the Atlantic Coast Conference on the list, joining NC State’s Elissa Cunane.
First team Academic All-District honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America ballot. First-, second-and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced in mid-March.
