THE FLATS – Following stints with the University of Wisconsin and Virginia Tech, Jill Jameson has joined the Georgia Tech women’s basketball team as the Administrative Coordinator, head coach MaChelle Joseph announced today.
“I am excited to welcome Jill Jameson to Georgia Tech,” commented Joseph. “She is a veteran in our profession and has tremendous experience at the highest level working with outstanding coaches, administrators and programs. Jill is very well respected for the years of dedicated service to her student-athletes and universities that she has represented. There is no doubt that she will make our women’s basketball staff and program stronger and more competitive.”
Jameson brings over two decades of experience in collegiate coaching and operations to The Flats. She comes to Tech after spending five years as Director of Basketball Operations at Wisconsin where she oversaw all administrative aspects of the women’s basketball program including the budget, game scheduling and daily logistics of the program.
Prior to Wisconsin, Jameson spent seven years at Virginia Tech in the same role. While with the Hokies, Jameson provided support in the overall day-to-day operations of women’s basketball. Jameson spent nearly 10 years as an assistant women’s basketball coach before turning to the operations side. She began her coaching career at Virginia Tech while also holding stints at Francis Marion, University of Tennessee Chattanooga and Marquette where she helped lead programs to conference championships and NCAA tournaments.
“I want to thank Coach Joseph for this opportunity to join the women’s basketball team and be a part of such a great academic institution with a rich history of winning,” Jameson stated. “I’m excited about this program and look forward to working with the staff and student-athletes.”
Jameson earned a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education from the University of Northern Iowa and a Master of Science in Education from Virginia Tech.
