Georgia Tech looks to get back to winning ways on Wednesday when it welcomes Furman. The Yellow Jackets are coming off a difficult loss at Boston College to open Atlantic Coast Conference play last Sunday. Three Yellow Jackets finished in double-figure scoring numbers, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Eagles, falling 74-62. Returning to Conte Forum, Cameron Swartz finished with a team-high 14 points. She continues to lead the Jackets offensively on the season, averaging 13.6 points per game. Kayla Blackshear boasts a team-high 6.2 rebounds per game average.

Furman carries a 7-6 record into the midweek matinee after topping Radford in overtime on Sunday, 75-67. The Paladins own a 2-4 record when competing on the road, having picked up wins at Presbyterian and UNC Asheville. Jaelyn Acker leads Furman offensively, averaging 14.2 points per game. Jada Session leads Furman on the glass, securing 8.2 rebounds per game on average.

Georgia Tech and Furman will meet for the 12th time in program history on the hardwood Wednesday. The Jackets lead the all-time series, 9-2, after collecting a 63-36 victory in McCamish Pavilion last season. Georgia Tech and Furman met for the first time on the hardwood last season since 1994.

Competitive Drive Initiative

In a unified endeavor, Georgia Tech, the Georgia Tech Foundation, Georgia Tech athletics and the Alexander-Tharpe Fund have come together to accelerate funding for student-athlete scholarships with the launch of the Competitive Drive Initiative. The initiative met its initial fundraising goal of $2.5 million in less than six weeks and has extended its target to $3.5 million raised by Dec. 31. Any new gift to the A-T Fund’s Athletic Scholarship Fund made through Dec. 31 will be matched dollar-for-dollar by the Georgia Tech Foundation, meaning that if the $3.5 million fundraising goal is met, the matching gift would result in a $7 million impact for Georgia Tech athletics.
